Review - 15th Dialogues in Cosmetic Dermatology
Sponsored by Skin Disease Education Foundation
September 20-24, 2000 - The Phoenician, Scottsdale, AZ

The 15th Dialogues in Cosmetic Dermatology had to be one of the most information-packed meetings anyone has ever presented or attended! The presentations ranged from Topical Agents for Peeling to Combination Peels, Comparing Microdermabrasion and AHA Peels, Anti-Aging Agents, Soft Tissue Augmentation in its various forms and Botoxtm Workshops. Liposculpture and Laser Resurfacing was also presented, along with various Lasers for Telangiectasia, Rosacea and Rhinophyma.

Dr. J.B. Pinski brought the conference to order with the introduction of Dr. Kathy Fields, who presented an extraordinary video depicting the aging face through the millennium. Dr. Fields then dicussed the use of Botox as a non-surgical approach to wrinkle elimination.

Dr. Pearl Grimes presented much new information in the form of studies that she and her office have performed with regarding to working with ethnic skins and clearing hyperpigmentation with the use of various types of microdermabrasion and chemical peel therapies.

Dr. Gary Monheit took the attendees through his combination approach for Chemical Peels, and really provided evidence that although the Laser is here to stay, Chemical Peels aren't going anywhere either.

Saturday's meeting brought live, in-depth surgical sessions from the Mayo Clinic Scottsdale, McDowell Mountain Medical Health South Surgi Center, and the Capistrano (CA) Surgerycenter in the morning, with an afternoon "round-table" discussion for the Aesthetician/Cosmetic Office Personnel.

A wonderfully organized conference, full of detailed information and workshops with the "take home message" that patient selection and proper procedure to fit the patient is an absolute necessity, so as to obtain the most beneficial results for that particular patient.

Medical & Esthetic Associates hope to participate again in future Dialogues!
