Please note this is NEVER "Medical Esthetician", just as Physicians are MD then FACS, not Cosmetic Doctors, they are Cosmetic Surgeons, and a CPA is a licensed accountant then Certified Public Accountant, etc. Complementary & Medical Health-care professionals are license first then certification, and titles reflect license held, all titles are earned and maintained by CEU hours and renewal.
CMES are RN, PA, MD, ND etc Medical Esthetics Specialist(tm) They are a licensed health care professionals who specializing in aesthetic procedures Medical Esthetics Consultant - medical office/ medical spa employee who performs patient consults CAMS are LPN, Surgical Techs (ones who must work under a physician) Those not in a medical office, Clinical Aesthetics Specialist - registration CAMS are Aesthetic Medical Specialist (LPN or surgical techs) they hold a medical license but must practice under a doctor Aesthetics MediSpecialist or MediEsthetics Specialist (complementary health care professionals) working under medical director license in medical office or medical spa (All Aesthetics/ Facial/ image professionals must provide a letter from your medical director and must be updated to maintain membership and registration.) Any "Medical Esthetician" or other improper titles used is grounds for termination of registration and membership.
