Medical Esthetics® Specialist Training
Note, each state determines the level of licensure required to perform Medical Esthetics Specialist (injectables, laser, advanced peel, etc. procedures). Most training is limited to M.D.s, Mid-level providers Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses and select states allow Medical Assistants with advanced certification. Medical Assistants and Nurses cannot function independently but can work under the orders of a physician and all providers are required to have a certification of completion for their malpractice files.
